Filomena's completed shawl

A close up of Filomena's shawl.

Filomena says "I'm hoping to finish the shawl soon so I can give it some wear before warmer weather comes ;o)"

I used Red Heart Plush in the wine color. I love it, It is so warm and soft. This was my first KAL and I've had a lot of fun. I've learned to use circular needles and I will definitely be waiting for the next knit along.

Tiki in VA

Tabitha said "the little blue one and the multi coloured ones are doll shawls that were my swatches the pink one was done before the official start date it's made from red heart super saver in dark fuchsia on size 10 1/2 US needles

the black one is the one I made during the actual KAL period begun about 3 days after the official start date--it took me about 5 days to actually complete it has 2 mistakes that I can see--one is a messed up yarn over--and the other is an incorrect yarn over that shouldn't be in the middle of the shawl (about 2 rows from the BO) that I simply took black thread and sewed shut
it was made with bernat co-ordinates black on size 15 US needles
modeled by my ever indulgent partner --well--indulgent so long as his face isn't visible :-)

Karen said "I had a great time making the shawl and hope to wear it a lot :)

Deb's finished shawl - check out her blog.

Anita's finished shawl! She says "It's my first attempt at a shawl and next time. I will definitely consider basic arithmetic in design instead of leaping in with needles to see what happens. Meantime, though, I love it, and with our fifth grandbaby due in April, it will be used well.
I hope we have more kal's, that was a fun project! I used size 8 (usa) needles and Uros Aran yarn in the orchid color."

April Fairy Knits says "I have changed the pattern a little bit. I cast on 5 stitches and am doing a K K YO knit to end. I am using Red Heart Plush in black. The recommended needle size is 8 and I tried using a larger needle but didn't like the way it was looking so I dropped back down to the 8 and I really like the completed look of the center of the shawl."

Joaninha is using Soft Boucle from Berroco, the color is "shades of earth."

Aisla said "Here's a picture of my progress! I'm using Berrocco CrystalFX on size 13 needles. I was gifted with 10(!) balls of this stuff... Unfortunately, I only had a 16" circular when I started so I'm having trouble deciding how far along I am. I had to laugh at myself when I thought "Ah! A (squared) + B (squared) = C (squared)! Now I can figure out how big my shawl is going to be!" I went to bed instead. Maybe I'll do the math later."
