Knitting makes me happy, computers keep me humble.

Started a jacket in Koigu Kersti - will use a number of different colors. First square - using a crocheted cast-on CO 101 stitches onto a 5 mm needle. Knit first row so that the stitches are twisted (this way you can take out your crocheted chain after you are done with this row :-)

Row 2 - knit 49, slip 2 as if to knit (from left, both at the same time), knit one, pass the two slip stitches over - two stitches decreased. knit 49. Hang a paper clip off the center stitch to mark it as the center stitch on the right side - as opposed to the back or "wrong" side.

Row 3 - knit 49, purl center stitch (this will form a row of knit stitches on the right side, knit 49.

Row 4 - knit to one before the center stitch, slip 2, knit one, pass 2 slipped stitches over, knit to the end of the row.

Row 5 - knit to the center stitch, purl the center stitch, knit to the end of the row.

Repeat rows 4 and 5 until you have one stitch left.
