Done with a strand of Lorna's Laces Socknitter's Rainbow yarn - fingering weight and a strand of Italian turquoise wool. Makes an interesting stripe pattern if you view it from a distance.

Done from the top down, starting with a crocheted cast-on...work a square. Pick up around all four sides. Increase at eight points. Use the square part to measure your gauge. Measure the person's head. Keep increasing until you get the head measurement. Then work straight.
